Description

With ""semi-bell" shaped, starry white blooms, tinged with green at the tips and punctuated with purple anthers in the center. Wide open, their white base complements all surrounding colors and their green tips and frilly purple anthers add interest. These flowers measure about 3 inches across, with widely-spaced, blunt-tipped petals that stand out beautifully.

The green tips are most noticeable in late spring and early summer, and turn to white in extreme heat and sun, but these blooms keep their fascinating shape over a summer-long season. Very high-performing! The plant reaches 8 to 9 feet tall and about 6 feet wide can even be used as groundcover.

As with most Clematis, it's happiest when its roots are in shade and its tops in sun, so mulch heavily at the base of the plant. It also thrives in dappled or part-day sun, and is not fussy about soil type as long as the drainage is good.Space plants about 5 feet apart for solid coverage. Zones 4-9. Pruning Group 3."
